Extremely rare antique coin operated “Carden” boardwalk telescope.
Hand crafted by William Jasper Carden, Navy man and resident of Garden Grove, California. Telescopes were custom built from the mid 1930’s through the last 1960’s. During the day, these beautiful telescopes could be found along the San Diego and San Pedro coasts, as well as along the Southern California coast and such places as Griffith Park Observatory, Los Angeles, Catalina Island and Lake Elsinore.
